Asano Inio never fails to amaze or surprise me. This is the first work of his that I read and I have to say, I found it wonderful and he’s a genius.
Geared towards the older readers, it’s more of a question of one’s purpose in life and how one particular couple takes on this dilemma. A bit slow-paced, since it focuses more on the slice of life part but still an amazing read. One of the gems that will stay with you for a few days after finishing it.
If you want a sort of fluffy, uplifting read… yeah, don’t go for this. Haha. The tone is somber and serious so if you’re not in the mood for that maybe pick it up again in one of the days that you are in the mood for it.
Men and women should read Solanin :) Maybe readers 14 and younger will find it a bit uninteresting and dry.
